Eureka is a children’s science bi-weekly published by the Kerala Sasthrasahithya Parishad. Famous scientific writers in Malayalam like Prof. S. Sivadas, C.G. Shanthakumar, Prof.K Sreedharan have been editors of Eureka over time. About 30,000 copies are being circulated in various districts of Kerala. Eureka is a Malayalam science magazine for children in primary classes.
Eureka has published 7 issues which are written and edited by readers of eureka. These issues are labelled as ‘Eureka made by children’. Eureka, which focuses primarily on science fiction and science fiction poetry, also promotes children’s writing. Eureka has been instrumental in developing scientific awareness among the children of Kerala. Stories like Robbie the Robot and Idian Muttan written by Prof. Shivadas were popular among the children. Eureka has been instrumental in introducing much new scientific information to the children of Kerala for the first time. Eureka has been very successful in motivating students. Competitive exams such as the Eureka Knowledge Test and the Knowledge Festival are very popular in Kerala.
